Hoxie峡谷 Review selected a short story by 埃尔迈拉大学 student 莱斯利星期一terrosa '24 for its fall 2023 edition. The publication includes innovative poetry, 小说, 和非小说, and is based at the State University of New York College at Cortland.
简单地说, Monterrosa’s story, entitled “Family Portrait,” paints the relationship between a mother and daughter. The mother relies on her daughter, telling her to look after her younger siblings. At the same time, the mother pushes her daughter to excel in school. While the daughter gives up friends and free time to be responsible, she also contends with being called selfish.
Hoxie峡谷 is published in the Fall and Spring, and accepts unsolicited submissions of poetry, 小说, 和非小说.
